Volodomyr Zelensky and Vitaly Klitschko look out over a caption - Indomitable - and a child reading Asterix books with a background of thundering Leopard 2 main battle tanks.

Welcome back to Shaw Sheet after our prolonged Christmas and New Year break.

In this issue we consider: Labour’s proposals to devolve power away from Westminster; a puzzling support for Putin in the land that gave us a classic underdog hero defending his freedom-loving homeland from a mighty and tyrannous invader; the possible runners in next year’s race for the US presidency; British adverts – a distorting mirror?; Ferrari’s initiative to make electric cars roar like lions rather than purr like kittens; Corbynista’s January; plus of course a crossword from Boffles and cartoons from AGGro.

During the break we decided to continue with a monthly rather than a weekly publication (among other things – please do see the announcement ‘Moving On’ below). Shaw Sheet will now appear on the first Thursday of every month, so our next issue – number 353 – will be published on Thursday 2nd March. We thank all our readers for their continued support.
