Tfl as Normal

Perhaps J R Thomas has a following in the imposing offices of London Underground in St James (your article last week).
Travelling on an usually chaotic system on Monday night, there came the long broadcast of services delayed due to signal failures, broken down trains, and lack of staff. But it concluded not with the words that “All other lines are running a good service”, deciding to aim lower with “…running a normal service”.
Indeed, “normal” describes it more profoundly than the announcer may realise.
