Issue 280: 2021 05 20: Jazz up your screen

Are you pining for some top-class jazz?  Shaw Sheet has spotted an online performance this Friday 21st May at Concerts Online by the Global Music Foundation.  Will Barry and Jim Gold are two of the finest young performers of today.  Once you’ve booked all you need to do on Friday is to find a darkened room and a glass of something at 8 pm and really get in the mood.

To book, scroll down the linked page to Will Barry and Jim Gold and select one of the choice of payment links below the picture of Will Barry at the piano.  Or you could simply click here to pay by Credit Card or Paypal.  When booking be sure to choose which concert you wish to experience (it’s the 3rd in the list).

Will Barry is a pianist, drummer and percussionist from London who graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in 2016.  He is part of numerous projects internationally, most prominently touring with Phronesis bassist Jasper Høiby’s group ‘Fellow Creatures’ in Turkey, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Holland and also extensively in the UK.

Jim Gold is a London-based saxophonist and bandleader.  He has performed at Ronnie Scott’s with his own quartet, Billy Cobham with The Guy Barker Big Band, The Skelton/Skinner Allstars Big Band, The Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra, The Callum Au Big Band, and The National Youth Jazz Orchestra, in which he played lead alto.
